Polymer pistols are everywhere—which one is best for you? That's a great question, but one only you can answer.

We can help you decide by breaking down the options in our XD® Mod.2™ family tree.

XD® Mod.2 3" Sub-Compact

Need a small concealable pistol, but something you can still get a good grip on? A Mod.2™ is calling your name—specifically the 3” Sub-Compact Model. (Yeah, it’s small—but it still manages to pack in 13 rounds of 9mm.) And thanks to ergonomic science and three distinct textures on the grip, the gun both feels solid and stays firmly in your hand.

XD® Mod.2™ 3.3" Sub-Compact

This model is another great choice for concealed carry—especially if you liked everything about its 3” brother but you want a little extra punch. We made the 3.3" for our .45ACP fans who appreciate the empowerment of the larger caliber. Both of the Sub-Compact Models come in black, bi-tone or FDE, so take your pick.

XD® Mod.2™ 4" Service Model

Let’s go a little bigger now. The Service Model is a great option for target shooting or, as the name suggests, a duty pistol for law enforcement. It’s got high visibility, low-profile sights and all the safety features you need, such as a striker indicator, chamber indicator, trigger safety and grip safety.

XD® Mod.2™ 4" Service Model—Threaded

Do you have a new shooter who is sensitive to noise or percussion?  Or do you just want to have a fun, relaxing afternoon with the family at the range? Then grab our 4" threaded barrel model with suppressor-ready sights and attach a suppressor to reduce both recoil and noise. Shooting doesn't get much more fun than this.

XD® Mod.2™ 5" Tactical Model

The tactical model is hard to ignore — and not only because it’s cooler. Really, if you want a little extra sight radius or muzzle velocity, then the 5” hammer forged barrel will serve you well and last long into the future. Don’t baby this gun and leave it behind in the safe. Put it through the paces, because it’s combat-ready and competition-ready. It can handle anything you throw its way.

Whether you’re looking for concealed carry, a reliable target shooter or a pistol fit to serve, you can find it living in the Springfield Armory® Mod.2™ family of firearms.
